Measuring your blinds is now as simple as 1, 2, 3!
Things you will need:
- Metal measuring tape
- Pencil or pen
- Order Sheet (click here to download & print)
- Optional: Another person to hold tape at one end, especially for large windows
Things to consider:
Option 1: Face Mount
This is were the blind is fitted to the outside window frame or architrave. The face mounted option is commonly used when a window has little or no internal space in the recess to install the blind. another reason for this type of installation is were maximum block-out , privacy and light control is required.
Option 2: Recess Mount
This is were the blind is fitted to the inside internal recess of the window. The recess mounted option is commonly used when a clean flush look is required. Some things to consider is the gaping on each side of the blind and the depth of the recess.
Option 1: Front Roll
This style of blind is commonly used if your preference is to hide the roll at the top of the window. The fabric comes off the front of the tube so the tube is hidden behind the fabric. In a RECESS application, it allows a little extra clearance for window handles, locks etc. Also note, when mounting a front rolled blind onto the face of the window, it will create a much larger gap as the fabric will not be as close to the wall as the normal rolled style of blind.
Option 2: Normal Roll
This is the most popular style and the one most commonly used.
The fabric hangs off the back of the roller tube, it keeps the fabric as close to the window in recess mount and it also keeps the fabric as close as possible to the wall when face mounted. This achieves the best heat and light control. If your fabric comes off the back of the tube, the blind could be impeded by window handles, locks etc. Either mount your blind further forward or order a front rolled style of blind.
